If you did then you know why I asked. Here is the infromation I promised the listeners.

ADAPTIVE CYCLING CENTER

Dennis Sutherlin and Rich Benton have opened the Family Cycling Center at the Winter Garden Station on the West Orange Trail. Named “Adaptive Cycling,” the center provides rentals and sales of bicycles that allow family members with disabilities to ride. The shop has tandems, recumbents and recumbent trikes. Their focus is on “special needs” children who would otherwise never have the opportunity to ride a bike and will enable them to ride with their parents for recreation and therapy. The shop also features high-quality Co-Motion and Trek bikes and can accommodate children as young as 3 years old. Says Dennis:

We are just getting started as a weekend business to hopefully introduce cycling to many families who thought it was never an option for them. Because of the expense of the equipment, we only have limited quantities to start and ask anyone planning to come out to call us ahead of time.We are hoping that everyone’s love for the sport will encourage everyone to spread the word about what we are doing to anyone we might be able to assist. We will be working with all special needs organizations from Cerebral palsy, autism, spinal bifida, visually impaired, brain injury, Rett’s, and Down syndrome to name a few.

We are not out to compete against all the great bike shops in town or to provide typical single bike rentals. Even though we will have the capacity to modify and repair most bicycles, we ask that you please use your local bike shop for parts and service on you regular bikes. We will have emergency supplies like tubes or CO2 if you need it on the weekend.

Contact Dennis or Rich at 407 877 8030 and check out their website at -> www.adaptivecycling.net!

New Bicycle Repair Shop in Moultrie Georgia

Wednesday, February 10th, 2010

That’s right, we have set up a Bicycle Repair shop in the small friendly town of Moultrie Georgia. The shop is actually inside the downtown landmark store Books & More.

Books & More has been in Moultrie for nearly 15 years and is run by my good friend and neighbor Jim Soos.

Jim has allowed me to set up a repair shop in the back of the store and we plan to start by reconditioning some bikes and selling them then eventually adding lines of new quality bikes along with more repair services. I have my eye on adding Fuji and Kestrel in the road, mountain and hybrid lines and SE Bikes in the BMX line.

If we can get some land we may also set up a BMX track and be abel to race in Moultrie and Albany.

Currently Books & More Carries the most complete line of new and used books in the Moultrie area and a line of Hobby Products that surpasses many hobby shops. Jim has RC cars, planes and helicopters as well as model kit, electric trains and all sorts of parts and accessories.

Come by and check out the shop and the bikes, I have several now that are in various stages of repair and if someone wishes to get one of these it wouldn’t take long to get any of them in like new condition. I also know that I have a nice Jamis and Trek Mountain bike that are on their way to me, just need some clean up, lube and a few adjustments on the Trek to make it good as new while the Jamis needs a cople of new parts to complete its repair. I also have a couple of good BMX Bikes coming one is a mini 20″ Giant Frantic, and the other is a Diamondback 20″ both are solid but need some minor work.

We will be adding parts and accessories bikes as we find out what sells in the area, we will have tibes for almost all bikes and expect to soon hear from several distributors that we have contacted regarding purchasing product.

In addition I have submitted my application to become a member of the National Bicycle Dealers Association and expect to hear back from them soon.

A radio show is scheduled for our grand opening celebration which is schedeuled for March 1, 2010.

Join me on the radio show by calling 347-324-3835 during the show or going to www.blogtalkradio.com/the-bicycle-nut
